PROJECT C.A.N. 2007!

Toa Payoh Central CC Youth Executive Committee &
NUS Students¡¯ Community Service Club proudly presents,
PROJECT C.A.N. 2007! ~ Collection in Aid of the Needy

PROJECT C.A.N is here again! Representing the theme "Collection in Aid of the Needy", or Project C.A.N for short, this annual NUS Student Community Service Club project aims to stir up the spirit of volunteerism among our youths, and at the same time, provide assistance to the those who are needy in the central region of Singapore. Altogether, we hope to collect 8000 canned food items to benefit 300 households. Project C.A.N. will be made up of the following three phases and we hope you can sign up as a volunteer to join us in spreading the warmth!

C.A.N. COLLECT: To be held on the 15th July, this will be a door-to-door collection of canned food and volunteers will be split into as many as 15 groups, with each group handling about 6-8 blocks of flats. We’ll be collecting from the central neighbourhood (Ang Mo Kio, Toa-Payoh, and Thomson) this year.

C.A.N. CHALLENGE: To be held from the 20th till the 22nd of July, this will be a joint effort between NUS Community Service Club and 3 NTUC Fairprice. Booths will be set up at 3 NTUC Fairprice outlets, to challenge the public to donate canned food generously to benefit the elderly and needy, and at the same time bringing greater awareness of the existence of the poor.

C.A.N. DISTRIBUTE: The final phase of our project - we hope to bring a beautiful conclusion to it all. We will go to the flats of our beneficiaries to distribute the canned food we have collected.
